The 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta officially concluded on 7 September 2023. The meeting of the leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and partner countries was held at the Jakarta Convention Center for three days, from 5-7 September 2023. There are many deep impressions of the ASEAN Summit during Indonesia's 2023 Chairmanship.
Apart from many agreements and successful cooperation established at the ASEAN Summit 2023, Indonesia also left a friendly impression as a welcoming host to state guests. This includes delicious archipelago cuisine and entertainment at a gala dinner on 6 September 2023.
The gala dinner was planned very carefully. Not only for each menu served to the heads of state and VVIP guests but also for the decorations, which were exceptionally beautiful and well-conceived. Plataran City Forest, the event's location, was successfully transformed into a "tropical forest" in the middle of Jakarta's skyscrapers.
Plataran City Forest, also known as Plataran Senayan, is located within the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) complex. In a way, Hutan Kota by Plataran is an exotic outdoor dining concept wrapped in Indonesian culture and history. This is in line with the tagline of Hutan Kota by Plataran, "Light of Nusantara".
The public first recognized the name Hutan Kota by Plataran in 2018. At that time, Plataran City Forest was used in an important state event, namely as the location chosen by President Joko Widodo to entertain state guests who came to the 2018 Asian Games. Since then, the name of Plataran City Forest has skyrocketed.
Facilities at Plataran City Forest
Plataran City Forest is very well designed and deserves to be one of the international meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions tourism (MICE) venues. The reason is that the urban forest has 4 hectares of green open space and has various venues and facilities that are complete for holding international-scale events.
There are five restaurant venues in the Plataran City Forest area, namely Plataran Eco Deck, Langit Senayan, Tiga Dari, Rumah Kaca Melati, and Pidari Longue. In these five venues, we can taste a variety of Indonesian specialties ranging from appetisers, desserts, and side dishes. Such as stuffed cakwe, udang keju gelora, ayam meriam sundut, gado-gado, asinan Betawi, garang asem, rawon, and fried rice.
In addition, other facilities are often the mainstay of millennials to unwind amid the hustle and bustle of Jakarta, including Plataran Mango Corner, Taman Tugu Majapahit Indonesia, Plataran Khatulistiwa, Dewa Ruci Basketball, Putri Dewi Amphitheater, Plataran Pets Playground, and Jogging track.
Interestingly, Plataran Indonesia, as the operator of this City Forest, brought in thousands of plants and bird experts from Plataran Menjangan West Bali National Park. In addition to adding beauty, it is hoped that the Plataran City Forest will become a nature reserve for birds in Jakarta.
