Regent Hopes ASEAN Summit Brings Impact on Local Economy
Jakarta, Kominfo Newsroom – West Manggarai Regent Edistasius Endi hoped the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, on 9—11 May could bring an impact on the local economy.
"We hope this event can bring an impact on the local communities' economy," said Edistasius in Labuan Bajo on Saturday, 14 April.
The ASEAN Summit is scheduled to be held for three days at several venues in Labuan Bajo, such as Meruorah Hotel, Ayana Hotel, and Puncak Waringin.
At the venues, MSMEs will exhibit their products to the delegation.
In addition, there is Kampung Ujung Labuan Bajo culinary center that sells a wide variety of cuisine.
Edistasius hoped that the event in the super-priority tourism destination of Labuan Bajo involving thousands of people could increase the local communities' economy.
He invited the community, especially farmers and MSME actors to take advantage of the moment.
He urged them to show quality products to be exhibited during the international event.
He advised culinary businesses to maintain cleanliness and provide the best service to the visiting guests.
"Excellent service is important. So, guests will feel happy and visit the place again," he said.
