Jakarta, Kominfo Newsroom – During the 43rd ASEAN Summit, the work-from-home (WFH) policy that will be implemented by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta will be increased to 75%.

This was stated by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono during a tree planting activity under the Becakayu Toll Road in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta on Saturday (19 August).

"Work and study from home will be implemented in the South Jakarta, Gambir, and Gelora Bung Karno areas from 4—7 September. Even for the State Civil Apparatus, we will increase to 75%," said Heru.

Heru explained that the WFH trial for State Civil Apparatus will last three months, from 21 August to 21 October, and consists of fifty percent WFH and fifty percent work-from-office.

Exempt from the WFH policy are State Civil Apparatus that interact with public services, such as hospital and school personnel.

When the ASEAN Summit takes place from 4—7 September, the WFH policy for State Civil Apparatus in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will be increased from 50 percent to 75 percent.

In addition to reducing air pollution, the WFH policy is implemented to reduce traffic congestion in Jakarta, particularly during the ASEAN Summit, according to Heru.

Heru stated that State Civil Apparatuses in institutions and ministries will also implement WFH policies similar to those mandated by the provincial government of DKI Jakarta.

"The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform has also issued instructions to all ministries regarding work-from-home policies similar to those implemented by the DKI Government," he explained.
Although this policy is not mandatory for private companies, Heru urged them to regulate their own WFH-implementable sectors. (Ant/TR/Vr)
